Edna Redberg very kindly excerpted these interesting portions of the diaries and provided them to NVMS. The complete diaries of Lars John Redberg are in the Pioneer Museum in Tillamook, Oregon. They were donated by Erwin and Edna Redberg.

March 27,1912 - Mr.Commons & Carl, Mr. & Mrs. W.W. Christensen went to Cloverdale in Common's Auto to see Chas. Ray on Factory Businesss.
March 28, 1912 - Auction in Hebo today. I got a dresser for $6.50. Real bargain. Cold. Cows sold for $40.00 to $70.00. Mr.Commons, Carl, & W.W. Christensen went to Cloverdale (in Common's Auto) to see Chas. Ray about buying his cheese factory and land.
April 3, 1912 - Willie left today for Till. & Portland. I took him past the Artie Gage place, in my buggy. (Hauling loads of lumber from the Hastings & Foster mill for the house.)
April 17,1912 - Dawson's auction sale. Cows all sold for at least $55 each. One $66.00. John Fleck, James Ward & Frank Franklin bought all the cows. Kranner Auctioned. The mountains are white with snow.
April 20,1912 - Ole went to Cloverdale after shingles for the new church.
April 23, 1912 - Ole helped me grade for our new house this afternoon. (Mrs. Roosa run the Dock?) Gerti visited her while Dad got supplies.
May 1, 1912 - We attended church at Grange Hall this evening. 2 Portland preachers. Wife and I visited school today. The children have gained considerable knowledge with Miss Bergenroth as teacher. Grading for new house each day, with Ole's help. (Drl Williams practicing in Cloverdale.)
Ma , 10, 1912 - Stretched wire on new chicken yard.
Ma , 12, 1912 - 98 degrees in the shade at 5:50 P.M. Frankie, Herbert, and I went to Steinmassls for his tool chest full of carpenter tools.
May 13, 1912 - Mr. Steinmassle and Wirt Sappington came here today and I helped them lay the foundation for our new house.
May 23, 1912 - Ole hauled the new boiler for the Oretown Co-Operation Cheese Co. from the Dock to the factory. W.W. Christensen and some others helped him.
June 3, 1912 - While the men worked on the new house, I tore ceiling out of the old one. The M.W. of A, gave a dance in their new hall at Cloverdale tonight.
June 7, 1912 - Chimneys- Mr. Wilson and Mr. Lightfoot
June 8, 1912 - Completed both chimneys.
