School District #4/rc1000cw.JPG
Big Nestucca Valley

this is the first known organized school meeting in a school building in South Tillamook County. There are references to this school being called "Big Red." It's interesting that the information provided below by Cecil Gist Clinker refers to the school as "Big Nestucca Valley School" as Nestucca Valley School District is the name that was chosen for the school district that was formed from Beaver, Cloverdale and Hebo School Districts when all of the school districts merged into one, and that name remains today.

This photo was scanned by Nestucca Valley Middle School students from the photo collection of Ruth Redberg Crocker who very kindly loaned some of her photos to be scanned during the NVMS Heritage Project. (Note - I notice that some of the writing has been cropped off and the photo is very light. I'll try to find a copy to see if I can improve the photo, and I'll enlarge it. Dean Bones 1/26/07).
